THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 1st century BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 6.18 g, 10 h), magistrates Damothoinos and Philoxenides. Head of Zeus to right, wearing oak wreath. Rev. ΘΕΣΣΑΛΩΝ / ΔAMOΘO[INOY] /ΦIΛOΞENI Athena Itonia striding right, hurling spear with her right hand and extending shield in her left. BCD Thessaly II 870.3. HGC 4, 210. Nicely toned. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
