ACHAIA, Achaian League. Messene. Circa 175-168 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 16 mm, 2.34 g, 12 h). Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Monogram of AX; above, I monogram; below, M; all within laurel wreath. BCD Peloponnesos -. Thompson, Agrinion, 321 (same dies). Very rare; only one example listed in the Agrinion hoard. With a fine golden luster and a nice old cabinet tone. Very fine.
