IONIA. Ephesos. Circa 180-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 12.14 g, 12 h), year 41 (MA) = 94-93. Basket (cista mystica) from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, MA (date) above EΦE; to right, lighted torch; between snakes heads, bee flying upward. Kleiner Dated 44. SNG von Aulock 7850. Scarce date. Some rough areas and cleaning marks and with a well struck obverse, otherwise, very fine.
