LYDIA. Tralleis. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 26.5 mm, 12.67 g, 1 h), Ptolemaios, undated but year 1 = 133-132. Basket (cista mystica) from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; above, ΠTOΛ; to left, TPAΛ; to right, Dionysos standing facing, holding long thyrsos with his right hand and bunch of grape with the left. BMC 44-8 var. SNG Copenhagen 662 var. SNG von Aulock 3263-4 var. (all from different dates). Rare. Nearly extremely fine.
