Septimius Severus, 193-211. Denarius (Bronze, 18 mm, 3.08 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation or 'Limes' piece, made on the eastern frontier, after an issue of Emesa, c. 194-195. IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. TR P III IMP V COS II Trophy with, at its base, two captives seated back to back on shields. Cohen 658 var. RIC 435 var. (both with different reverse inscription). An interesting coin with a dark green patina. Very fine.
