CELTIC, Eastern Europe. Imitating Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 14.04 g, 11 h), Eastern Europe imitation, c. 250 BC. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΕΑΝΔΟΡΟΥ (sic!) Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; in field to left, IM; below throne, M. Cf. Price B35 & Lanz 875-7. A very interesting imitation struck on good silver. Good very fine.
