Patriarch of Antioch (Theupolis), 6th -7th century. Seal (Lead, 30 mm, 17.15 g, 12 h). ΘЄΟΥΠΟΛЄΩC Facing, nimbate bust of St. Paul, between two crosses. Rev. ΠΑ-ΤΡΙ-ΑΡ-ΧΟΥ in the fields around cross bearing the monogram of Baselius. Rare and important early patriarchal seal. Very fine.
