IRAN: Nasir al-Din Shah, 1848-1896, AR 5000 dinars, Tehran, AH1297, KM-914, plain edge, blazing prooflike surfaces, clearly the issue of the Tehran mint, with the rays not extending to the left of the lion's head, two very minor dings at the edge, but all-in-all a spectacular example, or the highest quality for this type, presumably a very early strike from the new dies, possibly even a specimen strike, traces of very light surface hairlines, choice AU, RR.
Estimate: 1,000-1,200 USD
