JIND: Bhag Singh, 1789-1819, AR rupee (10.93g), "Sahrind", AH[12]24, KM-3, SS-273, Temple-17/18, style similar to Patiala issues of Sahib Singh, with the kalgi plume between the U and S of jalus, with "24" fully visible on the obverse, same reverse die as Lot 1486, VF, RR, ex Mohun Singh Collection. Bhag Singh's mint first used dies borrowed from Patiala, later imitated, sometimes with 24 (end of AH1224) at far left on the obverse, but usually with the word "bar" in the Durrani couplet engraved as a small line above a concave crescent, which seems to be a distinguishing factor for rupees of Bhag Singh.
