RUSSIAN EMPIRE: Alexander II, 1855-1881, AV 3 roubles, 1869, Y-26, HI mintmaster, fully lustrous for this unusual denomination, NGC graded MS63. Alexander II is best known for abolishing serfdom in 1861. He also sold Alaska to the United States in 1867. He was assassinated in 1881 by members of the Narodnaya Volya ("People's Will") movement.
