ARAB-SASANIAN: Anonymous, ca. 680s-690s, AE pashiz (0.93g), NM, ND, A-49K, Gyselen-66, standard Khusro II design, Arabic baraka in place of Khusro's name, reverse has rabbi Allah instead of mint name and bism Allah instead of date, F-VF, R. Most specimens published by Gyselen were found during the Bishapur excavations, suggesting that the mint was either at Bishapur itself or in the nearby region. However, the king's crown is identical to lot 102 in our Auction 15, which clearly shows the mint name abbreviation of Istakhr.
