SELJUQ OF RUM: Sulayman II, al sultan, 1199-1204, AR dirham (3.04g), Konya, AH598, A-1204, Izmirlier-95/97, mounted warrior. the earliest occurrence of this motif on circulating Islamic precious metal coinage, slight weakness at the rims, some original luster, AU, RR. There is one peculiar word between "duriba" and city name which Izmirlier and others have not yet deciphered. It is on all Sulayman's dirhams of Konya dated 597-598.
