BRUNEI: Anonymous, 18th-19th century, tin pitis (3.78g), SS-7A, tiger facing left // Arabic al-muzâhir ... fi bilâd al-biruni ("the master of ... in the land of Brunei") arranged around a cross, attractive EF, RR, ex Howard Simmons Collection. The text was read as "sultan al-'adil malik al-zahir," which is obviously incorrect on this fascinating and very rare piece. The uncertain Arabic word resembles "rûm", but that seems unlikely.
