TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th-18th century, cast large tin coin (70.03g), Robinson-20var (Plate 9.1), 72mm, knotted dragon right with protruding pointed tongue, large pellet below the dragon // 3-line Burmese legend, superb example, with the finest Burmese text known for this type, traces of original luster, mainly on the obverse, choice EF, RR. Coins of this type, where the dragon rather resembles a snake, typically weigh in the 55g-75g range, and were found in the Perak hoard, noted by Robinson, pp. 56-58.
