Roman bicolored glass bowl, 1st - 2nd Century A.D. , in pale yellow with a root beer colored horizontal trail around the rim which is nicely rounded; lightly indented foot. Old collection label on side with provenance - Vieil Aitre, (Nancy, France) March 1889, no. 841, which is the find site since other vessels from the same collection bear different French localities. Size: 2 ? x 3 3/8 in. (7 x 8.6 cm). Few age cracks and tiny loss to one side. Still a charming vessel. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Estimated Value: $350 - $450.
