Phoenicia, Tyre. Pseudo-autonomous civic issue under Roman rule. Ca. 1st-2nd centuries A.D. AE 15 (14.5 mm, 1.33 g, 5 h). veiled and turreted head of Tyche right / AKT[I?] / TIЄPAC / MHTPO[ΠO] / ΛЄωC, inscription in four lines within hull of galley sailing to left. Cf. RPC II 2069-75; Cf. BMC 313-320; Cf. SGICV 5212. F, skimpy flan, legend crowded but little lost. Rare denomination. This denomination appears to be unpublished - or at least under-published. Specimens ca. 20-23 mm, 6-8 g with the same or similar reverse legends are plentiful - 15 mm, 1.3 g, not at all.
