Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; kithara in left field, A below throne. Price B13 (same dies as illustration). EF, toned. High quality imitation. Extremely rare, Price lists two examples, none in CoinArchives.

Ex Numismatics Fine Arts XVIII (31 March 1987), lot 117.

While there are no tetradrachms for Kolophon mint during this period, the style is clearly imitating the drachms of Price 1769 and P44, which is likely why Price placed this issue under 'Colophon' prototypes. The prototypes are dated to the reign of Philip III, but this imitation may have been struck slightly later.
