Republic gold Onza 1868 PTS-FP XF Details (Plugged, Repaired, Cleaned) NGC, Potosi mint, KM142, Fr-37. The edge defect between "LA" and "FUERZA" is mint made, since also present on the ex. Farouk (Sotheby's 2-3/1954, lot 2048) trial strike in silver of this rarity. A well-pedigreed and affordable example of one of the classic rarities in the onza South American series, with 6-7 confirmed examples by the cataloguer, and eminently collectible as such.
