João V gold 800 Reis 1727-R XF45 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM121, Fr-44. An exceptionally rare Rio de Janeiro minted issue. This is the only example currently certified by NGC, with none seen by PCGS to-date. We have sold a small handful of Minas Gerais minted examples in VF condition, but none reaching the XF range, and certainly none with the deep attractive amber tone and eye appeal of the present issue.
