João V gold 6400 Reis 1744-B MS65+ NGC, Bahia mint, KM151, Fr-51. Simply superb, as the designation suggests, with as-struck qualities throughout the raised motifs and thick, original luster that sheathes both sides of the flan. Only the faintest of adjustment marks appear on the obverse, barely making contact across the well-coiffed portrait of the Sun King. In total, an exceptional model of this scarcely seen date from the Bahia mint.
