Louis XV gold 1/2 Louis d'Or 1717-A MS63 NGC, Paris mint, KM429.1, Fr-451. Mintage: 4,000. Rare in Mint State, this brilliantly struck one-year issue positively glows with luster, the young King's portrait boldly rendered and without even the slightest wear. Some minor adjustment marks are noted on the reverse, but these have been almost entirely disguised through the sharp strike. Near the ceiling of quality for the type, just two specimens are graded higher at NGC; a well-made and high-quality offering.
