Louis-Napoleon "Barre" 5 Francs 1852-A MS66 PCGS, Paris mint, KM773.1, Dav-94. Signature: J.J. Barre. A phenomenal example of this one-year type bursting with mint brilliance. Russet tone concentrated toward the obverse peripheries, with a uniform light patina showing alluring touches of seafoam on the reverse. An altogether stellar offering that would be difficult to improve upon. We note that an MS67-graded example previously sold in our Signature Sale 3051, Lot #32096, where it achieved $8,225.00 all-in.
