French Cochin China
French Colony copper Pattern Sapeque 1870 MS64 Red and Brown NGC, KM-Unl, Lec-1. NGC has attributed this piece as a Cambodian cash we believe as a general attribution rather than a true error. This rare D. Ulhorn pattern is believed to exist in numbers as low as 20 and understood to have been created for exhibition. Of the only two known die varieties this is the scarcer type where the die crack is seen traversing through the C in ECHANTILLON. An exalted specimen and most likely the finest extant with truly choice surfaces and beautiful cupric flares within the fields.
