William III gold Guinea 1700 XF40 NGC, KM498.1, S-3460. A very difficult type to locate, the Great Recoinage of 1696 mainly focused on the production of silver coinage and thus William III gold issues are comparatively scarce. This pleasing specimen exhibits abundant luster at the peripheries, centers lightly worn in line with the grade but retaining satisfying detail and a bold portrait of the King. A premium piece for its certification, and with high eye appeal.
