Sicily. Carlo III (VI of Austria) gold Oncia 1734 MS66 NGC, Palermo mint, KM135, Fr-887. An incredibly alluring gem, this highly lustrous piece offers impeccable surfaces and a cartwheel brilliance. Tied with two other examples as the finest graded by NGC, with one of two having been sold in or 2018 NYINC auction (sale 3061, lot 31024) and which realized a hammer of $1,800. That specimen, however, exhibited a few more adjustment marks than the present coin.
