Ferdinand VI gold 8 Escudos 1748 Mo-MF AU58 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM150, Onza-598. It immediately becomes clear to the viewer upon the very first glance that this specimen is as close to Mint State as possibly achievable for a coin of its age and type. The bright golden surfaces are highly lustrous and reveal only the most minute signs of handling, none of which are distracting in the least. Ferdinand's portrait, usually found relatively bold on this type, is made yet more impressive here by the strong detail that remains after only a slight rub to the highest points, leaving most of the detail intact for the viewer's appreciation.
