Dutch Colony. United East India Company gold Specimen Off-Metal Pattern Duit 1754 SP64 NGC, KM111.1b, Scholten-345 (RRR). Utrecht issue. A gorgeous gold striking, struck as an off-metal pattern, featuring the crowned arms of Utrecht with lions in support. The issue, being a Specimen strike, shows a pristine reflectivity in the fields with light die polish lines most visible on the reverse. Ultra-sharp with a degree of detail throughout that should make the special preparation that went into the production of this piece clear to all admirers. A truly special coin, one that is exceptionally scarce as a type, especially so fine.
