Dutch Colony. Wilhemina gold Proof Off-Metal Pattern 2-1/2 Cents 1908 Proof Details (Rim Damage) NGC, KM-Pn25, Scholten-Unl. (cf. Scholten-869). A very scarce off-metal pattern struck in gold. While the coin has received a "Details" grade from NGC, it retains a satisfying appearance. The fields are watery with light die polish lines running across the surfaces, the devices fully rendered and clearly never having seen any time in circulation. A rim bump on the reverse establishes the grade, though this remains an altogether special offering, the only one of its type that we have encountered to-date, a fact that will likely also be true for the vast majority of our interested bidders.
