Hadrian (AD 117-138). AE medallion (34mm, 23.12 gm, 12h). NGC VF 5/5 - 1/5, Fine Style. Rome, AD 123-128. HADRIANVS-AVGVSTVS, laureate head right, slight drapery on far shoulder / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, head reverted, between owl perched right on shield and peacock in splendor, standing left on scepter; COS III in exergue. Gnecchi 64.

The three birds seen on the reverse represent the Capitoline Triad. Jupiter's sacred animal was the eagle, Juno the peacock and Minerva the owl.
