IMP C M AVR VAL MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, head of Maximian right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / IOVI CO-NSER-VAT AVGG, Jupiter standing facing, head left, nude but for spread chlamys behind, thunderbolt in right hand, scepter in his left. Extremely rare, possibly one of only two known examples. Bastien, Donativa page 62, a. Biaggi 1812. Calicó 4692. Cohen -. Depeyrot 2D/5 (this coin illustrated). Jameson 325 (this coin). RIC VI 494 variety (obverse legend). A simply amazing style with stunning eye appeal.
