Valentinian III, Western Roman Empire (AD 425-455). AV solidus (22mm, 4.44 gm, 7h). NGC Choice AU★ 5/5 - 4/5, lt graffito. Coronation issue. Rome, AD 425. D N PL VALENTI-NIANVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Valentinian III right, seen from front / VICTORI-A AVGGG, Theodosius II and Valentinian III, each diademed and standing in military outfit, long cross in right hands, globes in left; human-headed serpent behind left leg of Theodosius; Valentinian being crowned by manus Dei, R-M in fields, COMOB in exergue. RIC X 2002 (this coin). Very rare.
