THRACIAN KINGDOM. Lysimachus (305-281 BC). AV stater (20mm, 8.52 gm, 12h). NGC AU 4/5 - 4/5. Posthumous issue of Byzantium, ca. 250-230 BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛYΣΙΜΑΧΟY, Athena enthroned left, holding Nike and spear in right hand and resting left elbow on shield; lion head in outer left field, trident in exergue. Marinescu Lysimachi issue 47, 122 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen 1086. Minor encrustation on obverse, rather lightly struck, otherwise an attractive piece on a broad flan.
