João V gold 12800 Reis (Dobra) 1732-M MS62 NGC, Minas Gerais mint, KM139, LMB-O288, Russo-288. An outstanding specimen showing rich, harvest-gold coloration that radiates with full-bodied mint bloom and only minor instances of handling noted across both sides of the wide flan. Of particular focus is the intricately styled portrait of the Portuguese Sun King which has been rendered impeccably, showing the majority of his coiffure in full definition. And, while the center of the reverse motif is somewhat softly struck, as is usually the case, the whole of this selection absolutely impresses.
