Ireland
Charles I "Ormonde " Crown ND (1643-1644) MS63 NGC, Dublin mint, KM64, S-6544. 29.50gm. Lords Justices coinage from the Great Rebellion. An intriguing issue, large in size and handsomely toned with the whole of the flan draped in gunmetal grays. The central designs are decidedly Mint State, with crisp edge detailing and struck-up centers that are indicative of a bold striking. Likely among the finest survivors extant, and commonly referred to as "Ormonde Money" after the Earl of Ormonde who served as Lieutenant of Ireland from 1643-1649.
