From a short two-year run, this lustrous Mint State specimen has been produced to an impeccably high standard, gleaming with complete cartwheel luster over a gorgeous lemon-gold planchet. Francesco's portrait persists with complete detail and no wear to even the highest surfaces; the fields show numerous contact marks and hairlines (in line with the grade), but these absolutely fail to reduce the desirability and eye appeal of this piece. Being of such a small and short-lived mintage, this type always generates considerable interest when offered at auction, let alone in Mint State and with the captivating appearance of this specimen.
