Tuscany. Ferdinando III gold Ruspone (3 Zecchini) 1797 MS63 NGC, KM-C39, Fr-226. The sole example of this year certified by NGC, and in impressive choice Mint State. Its surfaces glow with an abundance of mint luster, adding significant reflectivity to the butter-gold planchet; the strike is bold enough so as to effectively thrust the devices forward to the viewer, rendering them remarkably prominent. Minor handling marks in the fields is consistent with the grade, but this piece nonetheless remains attractive even for the choice level. An overall highly pleasing piece, which does not fail to impress when inspected in hand.
