Vittorio Emanuele III silver Prova 5 Lire 1914-R MS62 NGC, Rome mint, KMPR21, Pag-221. An exquisite Pattern in silver, delicately lit with a frosty white gleam, stamped PROVA DI STAMPA in the reverse field in recognition of its trial status. A type iconic for its beautiful neoclassical imagery captured in its medallic engraving, boldly represented on this specimen. It is unclear quite why this example has not received a 'choice' grade, as it shows no wear nor significant contact marks whatsoever, and indeed boasts nearly flawless sleek surfaces alive with cartwheel luster.
