Netherlands East Indies. Japanese Occupation aluminium Proof Sen NE 2603 (1943) PR64 Ultra Cameo NGC, KM-YB66. Struck for use in Japan-occupied Netherland East Indies, the vast majority retained and remelted. A Proof of Record of extreme rarity; even currency strikes are seldom-seen, let alone this specially produced trial. Deeply reflective, of a light silver color and definitive strike with frosted designs. A very difficult piece to compare, being the only one offered at auction in recent memory. We handled a silver trial of the same design in September 2011 which realized a hammer price of $26,000. The market will decide the final price for this exceedingly rare Proof.
