Netherlands East Indies
Dutch Colony. United East India Company gold Specimen Duit 1726-VOC SP63 NGC, KM70b, Scholten-8. Holland issue. A spectacular find and undoubtedly a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire what had heretofore only been a coin of passing academic hearsay. Scholten notes that in 1624, according to the General Register (no.19, p.16) the East India Company obtained permission from the Provincial States of Holland and Wesfrisia to have Duits struck at their Mint and were described as having the attributes of this phenomenal specimen. It is further noted that none of these type have ever come to light and that it was possible the sanctions of the States General was not obtained for the issue.
Possessing an unquestionably choice countenance, with an as-struck appearance, and enchanting aurous glow. The superior quality and defying factors to this treasure's mere existence astounds the senses. A procurement that would easily propel its potential owners cabinet to a world-class tier.
