Louis XV Sou Marqué (2 Sols) 1744/3-W MS63 NGC, Lille mint, KM500.22 (overdate unlisted), Vlack-205b (R5). A great rarity within the sou marqué series--ranking towards the upper end of Vlack's rarity scale--comparatively strong details preserved throughout with a characteristic pale silver hue highlighted by peach backlight. For reference, we sold an MS64 example of this same overdate in our 2014 FUN Auction #1201 (Lot 3238) for $2115.
