Kings of All England. Cnut (1016-1035) Penny ND (1024-1030) AU53 NGC, York mint, Witherin as moneyer, Pointed Helmet type, 0.99gm, S-1158, N-787. +CNVT | REX ΛN:, draped bust of Cnut left wearing pointed helmet, scepter in right hand / •+• ǷIĐRIN M•-O EOFR, voided short cross, limbs united at base by two circles, pellet in center, broken annulet in each angle enclosing a pellet. Incredibly handsome style for the mint, minor doubling in portions of the legends hardly inhibiting legibility, and a handsome cabinet tone that seems to heighten the eye-appeal well above the assigned grade.
