Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1814 Mo-JJ AU58 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM161. Fairly elusive edging on Mint State, and the finest specimen that we have handled, a bit of flatness noted on the king's bust and the corresponding area on the reverse, though the strike otherwise proves rather crisp and exacting. For reference, the AU55 example which we sold from the Rudman Collection (ANA Auction #3041, 25 August 2013, Lot 31408), achieved $1645.
