Philip IV 8 Reales 1659/31 or 35 (Aqueduct)-BR/I AU50 NGC, Segovia mint, Cal-569var (overdate unlisted). A well-struck emission with pronounced details, delightful dove-gray surfaces brightened by tints of champagne, and a light smattering of die rust. While the holder indicates a 1659 over 31 overdate--seemingly unrecorded for this type though known for Philip's 50 Reales--it appears more likely to the present cataloger that it is actually a 35, a similarly unrecorded date and rare.
