SOLOMON ISLANDS. Government of the British Solomon Islands. 5 Shillings, 1921. P-1. PMG Very Fine 20.
A very rare issuer and this 5 Shillings note is one of a mere four that PMG has certified and the second finest of that quartet. Still admirable color and detail for the assigned grade with just a touch of staple rust at left and an appealing contemporary annotation at the blank back. We handled the One Pound note from this series which was in roughly the same condition which brought $11,750 in our August 2017 ANA sale which gives credit to the scarcity of this series. PMG Very Fine 20.
