An impressive pair, each fully gilt over copper with even handling over the surfaces, as is allowable for the grade, but no distracting marks or spots. Intriguingly produced, the side without design on each piece displays identifying text in retrograde, both reading: 1855 / 100. F. / EPREUVE / B. RARELY offered as a pair and extremely collectible considering the large number of collectors that are attempting to acquire this Napoleon 100 Francs series by date.
