GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. 2 Taler, 1850-B. NGC MS-67+.
Dav-633; KM-1140; Thun-157; J-245. Miraculous quality, exhibiting pinpoint sharpness through the designs on both sides and incredibly fresh mint bloom in the fields that swirls around the central motifs. A splash of golden tone adds a touch of color to the far edges on both sides, with virtually no marks visible in the centers, even upon close inspection. By far the finest graded at NGC, this specimen is sure to excite even the most condition-conscious collector of German coinage.

The double Taler returned to fashion in Germany in the early 1830s as the Taler shrank from the convention Taler standard (28.06 g) to the Vereinsthaler standard (18.52 g).

Estimate: $4000.00- $5000.00
