GREAT BRITAIN. Angel, ND (1477-80). Edward IV, Second Reign (1471-83). PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield.
5.13 gms. S-2091; North-1626; Fr-139. Pierced cross and pellet. The Angel and the half Angel were the only gold denominations issued during this reign which followed the same standards as the light coinage from his first reign at 80 grains to the Angel. Full virtually complete legends with one negligible spot on the reverse where the top of the "S" is off the flan at six o'clock, otherwise the remainder is intact. A tremendous example with good eye appeal displaying soft golden tone which deepens to an orange hue amongst the devices and protected areas. Quite attractive with subdued luster and a nice skin sure to sure to excite the advanced collector.

Estimate: $4000.00- $6000.00
