GREAT BRITAIN. Copper Penny Pattern, 1797. George III (1760-1820). NGC PROOF-63 BN.
P-1097. Late Soho. An attractive, more ornate, pattern design for the immensely popular "Cartwheel" type. Well preserved, this example displays strong reflective qualities and significant mint red within the sunken fields and delightful crispness atop the intricate central designs. While recorded as "P-1095 - Bronzed" on the NGC insert, the overall appearance suggests this piece didn't undergo the bronzing process, thus making it more likely P-1097, which is considered slightly more elusive.
Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
