GREAT BRITAIN. Gothic Crown, 1847. PCGS PROOF-63 Gold Shield.
S-3883; Dav-106; KM-744; ESC-2571. Gothic type bust, "UNDECIMO" on edge. A crisply struck example of this famous issue with pinpoint execution apparent inside Victoria's intricate crown and dress as well as the complex cruciform shield design on the reverse. Exhibiting above average eye appeal for the assigned grade as well, the obverse fields possess glass-like reflectivity with an overlay of rich blue and purple that disguises most of the faint grade-defining handling. Along the legends, the Gothic-scripted lettering is adorned in golden tone, which uniquely contrasts with the centers. All considered, a choice example of this type which enjoys evergreen popularity -- likely deserving of a premium bid for its seldom-matched beauty.
Estimate: $7000.00- $10000.00
