HAITI. Copper 5 Gourdes Pattern, ND (1854). PCGS SP-64 BN Gold Shield.
KM-Pn64 var.; Arroyo-mule HA#P62 (obv.)/HA#P141 (rev.); Rudman-242 (found in 200 Anos de Numismatica Haitiana (1781-1981), Santo Domingo, 1985). Plain edge. Struck in bronze without date or denomination, and shown in the Standard Catalog of World Coins struck in silver. Obverse: large bare head of Faustin left; reverse: crown, mantled arms supported by two lions, "EMPIRE D'HAITI" above. Attractive quality for this RARE pattern, possessing a bold design and bright yellow, magenta and blue iridescent tone in the reflective fields. A few small instances of handling, almost entirely confined to the obverse, determine the grade.

From the Collection of Dr. James Eustace Bizzell, II.

Estimate: $2500.00- $3500.00
